Dr Lee Rotherham, executive director of Veterans for Britain, explains why leaving the EU does not end the risk of UK involvement in EU defence, which has been encouraged by key UK ministers and officials.
Dr Rotherham explained the problem at a meeting at the Royal Overseas League in London, hosted by the Campaign for an Independent Britain.
Other speakers were Steven Woolfe MEP, Dr Graham Gudgin of Brexit Briefings, Brendan Chilton of Labour Leave, Aaron Brown of Fishing for Leave and Edward Spalton of the Campaign for an Independent Britain.
Dr Rotherham was explaining the breadth of the UK’s recent defence giveway to the EU and the process by which pro-EU ministers and officials aim to convert it into a permanent giveaway, via a defence exit treaty with the EU. This is illustrated by the Brexit transition timeline below.
